I've owned many Hondas over the years and acquired this in the fall of 2019 from the individual who spent two years performing mechanical, body, and cosmetic restoration. On the mechanical side, this involved rebuilding, resealing the original 1.5L engine and Weber 32/36 carburetor; rebuilding suspension and brakes; fresh seals on the 5-speed transmission, refreshing cooling system with new hoses; new lines, cleaned tank, and new fuel pressure regulator on the fuel system; timing belt service. Corrosion was removed, original bumpers and lower side valances were replaced with fiberglass replacements, body was sanded down and repainted in the original colors. Neat JDM rear fog lights, rear window louvers, and rare New Zealand-market window visors were added. The engine was rated at 76 HP, which may not seem like much, but it weighs WELL under a ton, can easily do 80 MPH on the highway and return 40-50 MPG even with a heavy right foot. It's an absolute joy behind the wheel and spreads joy everywhere it goes.
